Chad Rea’s Bionic Arm

Chad Rea is a writer/creative/director/entrepreneur in Austin, Texas. Since his last post on MC (02.03.14) he’s started a video content company called Bionic Arm. Check out the adorable/hilarious/sad video “Year of the Goat (1991)” Bionic Arm did for New Belgium Ale (above). Fantastic acting by Goat Man. Love it.

Ben Tom George

Ben is a copywriter/ACD at Zambezi in Los Angeles. Check out his site for Stance special edition Star Wars socks—which allowed fans to use the force when shopping without touching their screens. Awesome. Ben also wrote the tagline for Words With Friends, “May the best friend win.” If you’re a WWF junky like MC, that’s tagline rock stardom. But is Ben any good at WWF, you ask?! MC challenged him to a game (actually three), and can confirm: yes. He’s very good.

CW Wanted: Hornall Anderson, Seattle

Amy Marshall, Talent Director at Hornall Anderson, is on the hunt for a copywriter. From Amy: “Hornall Anderson (Seattle office) is looking for a copywriter. Writers at a design shop? Say what? What will you write, you ask? All of the things.

If you haven’t thought about writing at a design shop before – twirl it around upstairs. We might be biased, but we offer opportunities to work with some amazing brands (like REI, Madison Square Garden, PepsiCo, Starbucks, Marmite, and Virgin Atlantic – and so many more) partnering with them to tell their stories. Naming, brand messaging/positioning, narrative, brand voice, print, packaging, digital, environments, campaign work – the variety of work is almost endless. We are strategy and concept driven with an equal amount of importance placed on craft. Work hard. Play hard. Respect.

And, our headquarters is in Seattle. C’mon. Amazing.”

You can also send your resume/portfolio (do not forget that portfolio) to Amy at: uscareers@hornallanderson.com

Tommy Crossen

Tommy is a junior copywriter at Marc USA in Chicago. His site currently has three agency projects and the rest is student work, which MC loves to see. (What kind of work did Tommy do as a student? How does that translate to his first agency gig?) Tommy is a graduate of Brainco’s online program, and might just be the first agency copywriter who attended a completely online portfolio school. Interesting!

Chris Baier

Since his last post on MC just over five years ago (03.27.11), Chris has been busy. He became a CD, joined eBay, worked on a bunch of their site builds, wrote design playbooks for eBay and PayPal, and developed his own social media app called Hashtag Spy. Way overdue for an MC update.

Pete Kearney

Matt Everts

Matt is a copywriter/Associate “Big Kahuna” at FCB in Chicago. Going through his site, MC laughed out loud about a thousand times. So much hilarity. That includes the site itself, which is a menu for Gaylord Fine Indian Cuisine. Don’t miss his Joe Boxer Holiday spots (if you haven’t seen them already). Genius.
