Gil Templeton

Gil is a copywriter at The Variable in Winston-Salem, NC. Sometimes you click through a writer’s portfolio and you can just tell how much fun they had making it—and you can see how they made the most of the opportunities that came to them. That’s definitely case with Gil’s site, from Beer Hunting Season for Lowes Foods, to his writing for Oklahoma Joe’s Smokers, to his videos for Peanut Better (wow). Dig it.

Sai He

Sai is a copywriter in NYC on the hunt for his next thing, previously at Clemenger BBDO and MullenLowe. He’s got projects on his site for clients like JetBlue (don’t miss “FlyBabies,” above), Netflix, Distracted Driving (PSA), Pepsi, and U.S. Cellular. Can’t wait to see where Sai lands!

Jon Arnold

Mars

Jon is VP/CD/AD at BOHAN in Nashville. Since his last post on MC (09.17.14), he’s got all kinds of cool new work up on his site: Coolville. As a writer, one of the first things MC looks at in designer portfolios is typography. Don’t miss Jon’s typography page in the design section of his site (awesome). But there’s great type all over his site, including in his Mars One project (above, featured under art direction). Take me, please.

Alison Hammer

fish

Alison is a copywriter/CD at MARC USA in Pittsburgh, PA. She’s got a crazy variety of projects up on her site, including online videos for verisign that look like they would have been a blast to shoot. “Ok, fish—hit him!” Also, don’t miss her Hate Mail page. We’ve all gotten it. Nice to see it proudly displayed.

Adam Koehler

floseiden

Adam is a copywriter/ACD at McCann in NYC. Since his last post on MC (back on 8.08.12), he’s added projects for Microsoft, CFP and Progressive (awesome Flo print campaign). He’s also written a book, The Path To Unenlightenment. Anytime you get to say, “Since the last time I was here I’ve written a book” you’re good. Dig it.

Mark Hohenschau

appetite

Mark is a writer/ACD at Y&R Chicago. Since his last post on MC (way back on 10.25.10), he’s revamped his site and loaded it with all kinds of new projects: Tyson Anytizers (above, “I’m starrrving!”), Dunkin’ Donuts, Progressive, Ocean Spray, Volvo, and more. Way past time for an update. Way past time for MC to heat up some Boneless Chicken Wyngz. Not kidding.

Rich Black

porsche

Rich is a copywriter/ACD at Downtown Partners Chicago. Since his last post on MC five years ago (04.03.10, has it really been that long?), Rich has spent time at Cramer-Krasselt as the lead writer on Porsche—I really hope that means he got to drive one for free—and then moved to Downtown Partners. And took his Cayman with him??

Bryan Karr

birds

Bryan is a writer at Venables Bell in San Francisco. Since his last post on MC (4.23.12), he moved to Venables from Leo Burnett Chicago and added new work to his site, including Audi and Skyy Vodka. Love the Audi spot (above). That’s exactly what the world is going to be like once Amazon starts using drones for delivery. Unfortunately, MC only has a Honda. Yikes!

Senior CW Wanted: Mullen Boston

mullen_black-2

Tammy Skuraton, VP/Creative Manager at Mullen Boston, is on the hunt for a senior copywriter. From Tammy: “Mullen Boston is seeking a senior copywriter who can produce bold, strategic, and persuasive messages in all media and come up with smart, creative solutions based on an agreed strategy. You need to realize that even the smallest job can become incredible, and that those small jobs open the door to the massive opportunity. You must be able to work both individually and in a team to come up with original ideas and be good at clear, concise and tenable writing. Grammatical and material accuracy are essential, as well as excellent verbal communication skills. We look for innovative contributors who keep abreast of current trends and technological advances, so that their ideas not only work but are culture changing. You should be able to participate in and contribute to new business activities as well as inspire continuous engaging messaging for existing clients. Your writing should be multidimensional and able to be translated into interactive content. Be prepared to get into the trenches with us and take advantage of every opportunity. Send us your portfolio. We want to see smart, brand-building ideas and executions that are extraordinary and memorable.”

Contact Tammy at: Tskuraton@mullen.com

Sarah Mosseller

Sarah is a copywriter at Mullen in Winston-Salem, NC. Her book is right at that stage when it’s half-produced (four projects), half-spec (five projects), and you get to see both. Fun for those of us looking through it, but a painful time for creatives. What goes in? What comes out? Produced is worth more than spec, but by how much? Arg.

Mark Radcliffe

Mark is a copywriter/ACD in NYC. There’s a killer variety of work on his site for clients ranging from Corona to Mitsubishi to Washington Mutual. But don’t leave without checking out his Personal section. Mark’s also a talented singer/songwriter, voiceover guy and photographer. His blog, Fucked Umbrellas, features pics of broken umbrellas abandoned on the streets of NYC along with captions of what each umbrella’s owner might have been thinking. In Haiku.

Tom Kelly

Tom is a copywriter/ECD at Brand Content in Boston. You know what’s great about portfolio sites? Versus the old portfolio portfolios? The archive section. If they love it, it’s like extra credit. If they don’t love it, it’s like, so what? It’s the archive section. (Plus, for writers, it means being able to include your fave headlines on one-shots, spec ads, oldies, and so-so art directed pieces.) Be sure to check out Tom’s archive section. Some awesome work in there. Glad we got a chance to see it.

Honorary: Jon Arnold

Jon is an art director/designer/creative director at BOHAN in Nashville. His site is called Coolville, and that it is, especially his work for the United Methodist Church. Wow. Love the Fine Living spots, too. Says Jon about his portfolio, “My work is only as good as the writing i’ve been blessed enough to have been given.” Honorary MC post, ding!
