Cassandra Ondich, Talent Acquisition Manager at VML, is on the hunt for a copywriter to join their Memphis office. From VML: “At VML, it’s not just the job you want — it’s who you are that matters. We’re looking for visionaries. Planners. Dreamers. Because VML is a place that’s all about putting everything you are into everything you do. And we believe in the thought that if it doesn’t exist, it can be created.
Yes, technically we’re located in Kansas City. And New York. And Chicago. And Seattle. But if you need to find us, we suggest visiting somewhere that can’t exactly be pinpointed on a map. Look for us where dreamers thrive. And ideas, too. In a place where limits are pushed and pulled and stretched. Because VML is a full-service digital advertising agency that thrives where the blue sky of possibilities intersects with grounded solutions. We know this is a great place, and others know it too. In fact, we’ve been voted as one of the 25 best places to work in America three times and have partnered with brands around the world. And with two decades under our belt, you’d be correct to guess our trophy case is pretty full as well.
VML is seeking a Copywriter for a government client based in Memphis. Project work requires US citizenship.
What we’re looking for:
- Good client presentation skills demonstrating a clear vision of how the work addresses the client challenge
- A desire to take on new challenges, grow and learn every day
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger team in a fast-paced environment
- Savvy with social media
- Passion for creating online advertising that busts through banner blindness
- Writing talent that makes people take notice and take action
- A bachelor’s degree, English or writing emphasis preferred
- Three-plus years of experience in an agency setting, with strong conceptual abilities, solid writing skills and a knowledge of the digital landscape
VML is a M/F Disabled and Vet EEO/AA Employer.”

Daniel is a copywriter/creative director at VML in Kansas City, previously at LatinWorks in Austin and Young & Rubicam in both Paris and Lima. Since his last post on MC (12.16.13), Daniel has been busy. From #FREEZERDIG for Wendy’s, a fresh way to promote fresh burgers (sorry, had to), to a scary good Snickers spot (above). Dig it.

Mike is a copywriter at VML in NYC where he helped create the above Moto Dojo campaign highlighting Motorola’s Moto Action. There are times when every copywriter gets lost in the grind of penning 500 tags for some new product that doesn’t really need a tag and questions, “Why? Is this really a job? Is what I do worthy of my short time on this planet?” Then comes along a project like Mike’s Moto Dojo and it all goes out the window. Of course this isn’t a real job. Look at what we do. And yet, somehow, they pay us. Shhh.

Andre is a senior copywriter at Wexley School For Girls in Seattle. Really fun mix of projects on his site, including Carhartt “Hire These Pants” (above), a giant Darigold Farmalicious fridge, The Tennis Court for Wilson, and a Microsoft Lync slingshot for old phones. Good times.

Coby is a copywriter at R&R Partners in Salt Lake City, Utah. Previously, he was employee #3 at Beloved Shirts, who wrapped the above Bently as a watermelon. So funny. Don’t miss the rest of Coby’s Beloved shenanigans. Had MC laughing out loud for 10 minutes. Too good.

Mila is a copywriter/ACD at VML in NYC. All kinds of cool projects on her site—but as a long-time resident of the Bay Area, MC has to give a special shout-out to Burger King Proud Whopper. Such a simple, bold, genius idea. Can’t help but make you proud to be in advertising. Love it.

Libby is a freelance copywriter/CD in Kansas City, Missouri. After 11 years of agency life, Libby’s gone full-time freelance. Now she’s ready to swing for the fences—for your team. (Sorry! Kansas City Royals are in the World Series, had to do a baseball pun. Not Libby’s fault.) All kinds of cool work on her site for brands like Gatorade, Helzberg, Kashi, Ball Canning, Apple, and Sonic. Don’t miss her “The Stalls” social campaign for Sonic during The Hills. Delish.

Kimberly Easley, Director of Talent Acquisition at VML in Kansas City, is on the hunt for a CD or ACD. From Kimberly: “VML Kansas City is looking for a CD or ACD to head up one of our award-winning, always on, social media teams.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about social media. An energetic, strategic and conceptual thinker with experience writing and creating daily social content for brands that post across a host of social media channels. Day to day, you will be running a team, managing and motivating people, reviewing posts, creative directing, presenting to the client, maintaining the social feeds, and pitching in to concept and write. The rest of the time, you will be a visionary: Someone who can take daily social content to the next level, try new things, and be the creative expert and thought leader for the social media properties of a national brand that wants to be famous for social media. If this sounds like fun, let us know.
VML is a full-service idea agency that thrives where grounded solutions meet the blue sky of possibilities. We’ve been voted one of the 25 best places to work in America three times, and we have partnered with some of the most recognizable brands in the world.
