Mike Haftel

Mike Haftel is a freelance copywriter in San Francisco. (Mike’s been on MC a few times over the years, always great to see his portfolio updates.) Since his last post on MC in 2018, he’s added a bunch of new work to his site including a cool trailer for Alan Wake 2 (AKQA), a psychological/survival horror game. At the time of this post, the launch trailer is up for a Clio and Golden Joystick Award. Niiiice.

Benji Shaw

Benji is a senior copywriter who was recently furloughed from DDB NY and is on the hunt for his next big thing. Since his last post on MC (way back on 12.16.14), when he was fresh out of ad school, Benji has added all kinds of cool campaigns to his portfolio for brands like Jameson, Nespresso, VISA, Capital One, and Tostitos. Don’t miss his 7-Eleven project “53¢ FOR LIII” (above), for which he got to write a real-deal long copy ad that ran in the Boston Globe. For a copywriter, that’s victory.

Rachel Chew

Rachel is a senior copywriter at BLK J in Singapore, previously at DDB and Arcade. All kinds of cool projects up on her site, including “Wandermust” for Scoot, the world’s fastest band for StarHub Mobile, and Singapore’s first all-women Individual Physical Proficiency Test for the Life Company (above). In addition to copywriting, Rachel is also a photographer (be sure to check out her IG) and … abstract latte artist. Nice.

Sara Muchnick & Katie Coward

Sara (copywriter) and Katie (art director) are a creative team at Pereira O’Dell in San Francisco. Since their last post on MC (back on 10.29.18), they’ve been busy. There’s new work on both of their sites (and different work on each), including a super cool project for Ese by Pearson (above). Time for an update!

Aaron Vick

Aaron is a copywriter/ACD at DDB in Chicago. Since his last post on MC (way back on 02.24.14), he’s completely revamped his portfolio with a bunch of new TV & video from Miller Lite, Capital One, and State Farm, plus projects for McDonald’s, Cottonelle, and the Chicago Bears. Definitely time for an update!

Andrew Hajjar

Andrew is an ACD/copywriter at McCann in NYC. The work in his portfolio is killer—but it’s the format of his book that puts it over the top. Andrew has created #BAÑOBOOK: “the first Instagram-based copywriting portfolio designed to fight dwindling site visits by focusing on ‘toilet-top’ rather than ‘desktop’ views.” Instead of describing it further, MC encourages all to have a seat, take a load off, and enjoy.

Sara Muchnick

sara

Sara is a new copywriter at DDB in San Francisco and a recent graduate of Miami Ad School. First thing you’ll notice is that she’s redesigned her Squarespace site to look like a Spotify page (above). How cool is that? Cool. Super interesting mix of projects on her site, including Kanye West’s platform for his 2020 run, U.S. of Ye. One can only imagine.

Mike is a freelance senior copywriter in San Francisco. Since his last post on MC (back on 01.09.15), he’s been busy. His new projects include a social media launch for the Xbox One X “Feel True Power” campaign (above), creative strategy and a cinematic spot for Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six: Siege game, and a global 360 campaign for Microsoft Cloud. Time for an update!

Bari Khan

creature

Bari is a copywriter at DigitasLbi in San Francisco. His site is loaded with gaming projects for titles like Shadows of the Colossus, The Last Guardian, Until Dawn, and Horizon: Hero Dawn – The Watchers. For the latter, Bari’s team brought the game to life by literally bringing Watchers to life at E3 (above). Fingers crossed he gets to borrow it for Halloween.

Eduardo Vea Keating

mexicochicago

Eduardo is a copywriter/CD from Spain who’s been living and working in Chicago for the past six years—and is currently at DDB Chicago. Lots of cool outdoor and experiential stuff on his site, including projects for Mexico.com (above) and MINI (love the chairlift). Which makes sense, because he also has a second Behance site showing off his art, design and sculpture projects. Love it.

Jeff Oswald

dude

Jeff is a freelance senior writer/ACD in Chicago. It’s been over two years since his last post on MC (04.23.15), so way past time for an update. Don’t miss his Bud Light page, featuring Conan (“Vroom-vroom party starter” heh-heh) and “Dude Vegas.” MC has but one word. Dude.

Cameron Day

bag

Cameron is a freelance writer/CD in Austin. He’s the son of Guy Day (co-founder of Chiat/Day) and the “PAST” page on his site is a who’s-who list of amazing clients and agencies. Clicking through his work, you see why—great writing all over the place. So what does MC choose to feature? A grocery bag, of course! It just perfectly sums up what a copywriter’s portfolio should be about. You may spend 30 years writing the hell out of everything from Super Bowl TV to Rolling Stone print, but in the end it’s that grocery bag you nailed that makes it to the top. Great writing is great writing, no matter where it appears. Love it.

Gino Bernabé

americancolors

Gino is a senior copywriter from Italy at Fahrenheit DDB in Peru. Before Fahrenheit DDB, he was at Y&R Perú, where he joined as an intern copywriter—at the young age of 32. Since then, he’s built an awesome portfolio of work for clients like American Colors (above), the Peruvian Cancer Foundation, LAN Airlines, and Toyota. Love it.

Hugo Eléspuru

cancha

Hugo is a senior copywriter at Fahrenheit DDB in Lima, Peru. (Hello, Peru!) All kinds of awesome creative strategic campaigns on his site, including an extreme price hike on Mother’s Day for gifts no mom wants to receive, using fast internet to slow down speeding drivers, and popcorn boxes that promote equal lending mortgages for same-sex domestic couples. Dig it.

John Dolab & Chip Kettering

chip

John (copywriter/CD) and Chip (art director/CD) are a freelance team based in Los Angeles. Their portfolios are loaded with big-name clients like Farmers, Chevy, Kaiser Permanente (above), and Wells Fargo, along with some cool surprises like Thomas + Friends and the Institute on Aging. Psyched to have them up on MC.

Raoni Leão

gatorade

Raoni is a senior copywriter at DDB Mozambique (MC’s first site from Mozambique, yes!), previously at agencies in Brazil. He’s worked on banks, insurers, beverages, credit cards, and cars, for brands like Google, Gatorade, Paints Suvinil, Toyota, Vodacom, and Standard Bank. No matter the language, it’s so cool to see the ideas that get produced in different parts of the world. Always something to learn.

Mike Breighner

motodojo

Mike is a copywriter at VML in NYC where he helped create the above Moto Dojo campaign highlighting Motorola’s Moto Action. There are times when every copywriter gets lost in the grind of penning 500 tags for some new product that doesn’t really need a tag and questions, “Why? Is this really a job? Is what I do worthy of my short time on this planet?” Then comes along a project like Mike’s Moto Dojo and it all goes out the window. Of course this isn’t a real job. Look at what we do. And yet, somehow, they pay us. Shhh.

Josh Weiss

jump

Josh is an art director at Saatchi in Los Angeles. Tons of projects for Toyota on his site, including a series of influencer videos for 4Runner. Don’t miss “The Last Jump” by Chris McNamara (above), which shows what can happen when base jumping doesn’t go as planned. (Gulp.) Cool use of YouTube’s annotation feature for this project.

Jose Benitez

kim

Jose is a senior copywriter Dieste in Chicago. Since his last post on MC (back on 12.04.14), he’s added a bunch of new projects to his site including Adoptable Trends, which turns shelter dogs into trending topics by naming them things like “Kim Kardashian’s Butt.” So smart. So cute! (The dog, not the butt.)

Todd Mitchell

barrel

Todd is a freelance copywriter/CD in Boston. Since his last post on MC over six years ago (05.10.10, so long ago), Todd’s been busy. Like, super busy. Including lighting the 26-foot high Jack Daniel’s Barrel Tree (above), which looks like inspiration for MC’s 2016 front yard holiday display. Yes, please. Welcome back, Mr. Mitchell.

Frank Cartagena

Frank Cartagena _3

Frank is a copywriter/creative director at Deutsch in NYC. Since his last post on MC (almost exactly five years ago on 07.29.10), he’s gone from junior copywriter at Hill Holiday in Boston, to Arnold, to DDB, to Deutsch, created some amazing projects, and won a billion awards. Don’t miss his work for WATERisLIFE, including HashTag Killer (above). Just awesome.

Jeff Oswald

will2

Jeff is a senior writer/ACD at Cossette Chicago. Since his last post on MC (01.30.14), he moved from Jacobson Rost to Cossette, made a new site, and added new work—including a bunch for McDonald’s. MC wonders: How do copywriters who work on McDonald’s avoid eating McDonald’s all the time? Or is that just MC? Arrrg.

Jeremy Ng

cake

Jeremy is a senior copywriter at NagaDDB in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. (Love international submissions. More, please!) He started life as a graphic designer, then switched to writing at his first agency. Check out his project for Yoshinkan Aikido, which uses pieces of bad guy faced-cake to promote self-defense classes for Malaysian women. Delish.

UPDATE: Ann Titus

TabletsDM_640

Ann is a freelance copywriter/ACD in Chicago, currently at Havas Worldwide on Citibank, after taking a year and a half off “to become a more insightful marketer to suburbanites and stay-at-home moms.” (Love that.) Since her last post on MC (04.06.12), she’s redesigned her site and added a bunch of new work. Time for an update!
