Tucker Jackson

Tucker is a new copywriter in Nashville on the hunt for a FT gig. Lots of hilarity all over his site, including a Gen Z campaign for Candy Crush that’s all about thumbs, a lazy campaign for DoorDash, and a whole bunch of social work for KFC. From his About page: “I don’t know where you live yet so I made this site to show you all this work. I recognize that it’s rough around the edges, but then, so am I. Think of how smooth I might be with your help.” Can’t wait to see where Tucker lands.

Nick Rudie

Nick is a freelance copywriter/CD in Minneapolis. Lots of inspiring lifestyle and outdoor projects on his site for brands like Supra Boats, Jack Link’s, CLIF Bar, Moomba Boats, Polaris, Catch Co., and Bauer Hockey (above). Makes MC want to get out there this weekend and do something active. Or, write a campaign about other people getting out there and doing something active. (Hmm.) Dig it!

Quynh Tran

Quynh is a junior copywriter at INNOCEAN Berlin. (Love seeing junior portfolios. Love seeing portfolios from outside the States. Keep ’em coming!) Quynh’s site features a landing page that’s all copy—a note from him to us, with links to work, CV, etc.—that helps a visitor get to know him in two minutes or less. It takes a little exploring to find your way around, but that’s part of the fun. Don’t miss the link, “I f*cked with Cannes Lions” which got a shout-out from Luke Sullivan. Dig it.

All kinds of cool projects up on his site for brands like NBA 2k, Blue Shield, Glad, plus a Michelob Ultra as-big-as-it-gets Super Bowl spot featuring Jimmy Fallon and everyone else. Also, don’t miss his McSweeney’s article from June 2020, “IF YOU DON’T DONATE $2 TO MY CAMPAIGN IN THE NEXT 16 MINUTES, I’LL BE FORCED TO DIVE HEAD FIRST IN FRONT OF THIS RICKSHAW.” So good.

Justin Davidson

Justin is a copywriter in NYC, previously at ViacomCBS and Nickelodeon (before getting pandemic’ed), now on the hunt for his next thing. His site is full of work for/in partnership with Nickelodeon, including something called Toiler Paper Blasters which would have been an immediate MC purchase pre-pandemic, before TP became became the new money. His site also features a two-minute LEGO stop-motion video that he got to write for the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. That’s not work. That’s just fun. Can’t wait to see where Justin lands next.

Benji Shaw

Benji is a senior copywriter who was recently furloughed from DDB NY and is on the hunt for his next big thing. Since his last post on MC (way back on 12.16.14), when he was fresh out of ad school, Benji has added all kinds of cool campaigns to his portfolio for brands like Jameson, Nespresso, VISA, Capital One, and Tostitos. Don’t miss his 7-Eleven project “53¢ FOR LIII” (above), for which he got to write a real-deal long copy ad that ran in the Boston Globe. For a copywriter, that’s victory.

Andrew is a junior copywriter on the hunt for his next gig, formerly at Ogilvy NYC (who just laid off 80 peeps across the country). At Ogilvy, Andrew was part of a small team “developing high priority work for Instagram as Ogilvy was their first ever agency of record. Projects included coming up with the brand’s first tagline, creating brand campaign ideas, activations and innovative on-platform film content to engage teens.” Pretty cool. His site also includes spec campaigns for Scrubbing Bubbles, Dodge, Starbucks Bathroom Reviews, and Schick Edge (above). Hoping Andrew finds a new gig soon!

Samar Singh

pacman

Samar is a new copywriter and a recent graduate of Miami Ad School (interning at DDB Berlin at the time of this post). What a student puts in their book can tell a lot about them. Spec can be anything. So it’s cool to see a student book like Samar’s that’s not only got all kinds of fun ideas in it, but ideas that would make the world a better place. High-five.
