This is awesome. Eric Hartsock of Exit10 in Baltimore is looking for a copywriter. This was the entirety of his note to MC: “We need a copywriter. Not going to tell you how to get the job, you’re just going to have to figure it out. Exit10.” Love it.

Elizabeth King
Elizabeth is a senior copywriter at Kirshenbaum NYC. She’s got a ton of killer stuff for BMW up on her site, plus De Beers, Starz, Smirnoff, Wendy’s, awesome. From her Elizabeth King • Copywriter page: “Advertising is not for those who like things winded. Long copy is dead. We’re no longer writers, we’re thinkers, right?” Hmm, wonders MC. Writers = thinkers. Maybe there just aren’t any readers left?

UPDATE: Tom Archer
Tom is a senior copywriter at Cramer-Krasselt in Milwaukee. (Previous post 2.09.11.) He’s updated some things and got some new work up, so it’s time for an update. One thing that didn’t change is his site URL. One of the best ever.

UPDATE: Ryan Montanti
Ryan is a copywriter at McCann NYC. Since her last post on MC (May 4th, 2010), she’s added all kinds of killer new work including the above stop animation for Sony Xperia, directed by Wes Anderson. Yes, it’s awesome. And yes, MC is more than a little jealous. Tip ‘o the hat, Ryan.

Jorge Soto
Jorge is a copywriter/CD at Y&R in Lima, Perú. (His site was submitted by André Toledo from Y&R Perú. Big ups, André.) MC had trouble deciding which to feature: the above campaign for League Against Cancer or Jorge’s campaign for Banco Financiero. In the end, underwear wins. Ha! Sorry.

Andrew Ciaccio
Andrew is a copywriter at Draftfcb in Orange County. Bunch of cool stuff for Red Bull on his site from his time at Kastner. Be sure to check out Red Bull Creation V.2.0.12, which made MC laugh and want to throw up at the same time. So fun.

Sarah Weigl
Sarah is a copywriter at Sanders/Wingo in Austin. (Her site was submitted by Nikki Lott at Integer. High-five, Nikki.) One of the things MC enjoys most, going through a CW’s portfolio, is seeing their personality come through the work. Spend 30 seconds on Sarah’s site, and you see it. Bad-ass. Also, be sure to check out her rad blog Badder Homes & Gardens, with Nikki and Krista Hogg. Awesome.

CW Wanted: Breakaway Boston
Scott Maney, Chief Creative Officer at Breakaway in Boston (and friend of MC) is looking for a writer. From Scott: “Small, very unique shop of 15 in Boston. Less than 2 years old. Starting to explode with new work. Looking for a writer who can, and wants to, handle everything from TV to print to digital to social to product development. A lot of sports and lifestyle work. An energy brand. Consumer tech. Creatively-focused consumer products. Launching a new fashion e-commerce site. The list seems to grow every week. We have a venture capital arm too so we invest in cool companies. Definitely not the old school ad agency model.” Interested? Awesome. Email Scott at the address below.

Kapil is a freelance writer/CD in Boston. Before going full-time global freelance superstar, he spent five years at Modernista!, but really MC can’t list everywhere he’s worked because it’s pretty much everywhere awesome. As copywriters, what we do is commerce and art. Some a little more commerce. Some a little more art. When you land on Kapil’s site, you immediately know. It’s art.

Erik Fahrenkopf
Erik is a copywriter/CD at Goodby in San Francisco. He shares a portfolio site with partner/AD Anthony Decarolis, and their work is just ridiculous awesome. MC had a tough time selecting which piece to feature, but you can’t go wrong with Cheetos Flamin’ Hot fingers dialing 911. Brilliant.

Mike Fisher
Mike is a copywriter/CD in Dallas. He spent a serious chunk of time at The Richards Group (12 years), and his Behance portfolio is full of all kinds of Home Depot work—including the above billboard that hung at Texas Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, owned by Jerry Jones. MC is neutral in all matters, and respects all 50 states, including Texas which is home to more than one great city and many, many awesome, creative people. But there’s no denying it. There’s only one Texas.

UPDATE: Mike Ward
Mike is a VP/ACD/Copywriter at Leo Burnett Chicago. He’s got a redesigned site for a portfolio so good it’s scary. (Sorry. Halloween. It’s allowed.) The writing is flat-out amazing. MC recommends clicking through Categories: Print. Or, just go for it and click Categories: All Work. So much awesomeness.

CW Wanted: GreenRubino Seattle
Ryan Ruelos at GreenRubino in Seattle is looking for a copywriter. From Ryan: “GreenRubino is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Copywriter. If you are passionate, collaborative, idea-driven, slightly askew, and fanatical about words, ads, brands, and building experiences, please contact us. We are an integrated, Seattle-based, firmly rooted and fiercely motivated advertising agency and branding firm, so versatility is an essential skill-set. Our ideal candidate is an idea person and a master wordsmith—fluent in short, smart, wry, insightful points-of-view; plus can also produce tight, crisp long-form copy and online content when called upon. If you toil unceasingly in perfecting headlines and loathe cliched, tired, ‘cute’ twists of phrase, you’re likely the right fit for us. Experience in writing television, radio, and online film work is favorable. The right candidate will likely have graduated from either an art or advertising program or possess a Bachelors Degree in some form of communications or humanities. 2 – 4 years of advertising agency experience is a huge advantage, but if you’re a recent graduate with a very, very strong portfolio, we would love to meet you. (Please note that we are not seeking editorial writers at this time.) About GreenRubino: full-service communications firm-slash-marketing commune founded in 1977. Our experience, growth and results have established us as one of the Northwest’s most successful and respected agencies.”

UPDATE: Vladislav Ivangorodsky
Vlad is an art director/CD at CP+B in Miami. His portfolio was one of MC’s rare Honorary posts for art directors (Feb 2011), because it’s just off the charts awesome with big ideas. Got a nice email from Vlad saying that that post helped him get his current gig, which MC loves to hear. Anyway, year and a half later, it’s time for an update. New site. New work. Still off the charts.

Théo Wallace
Théo Wallace is a copywriter in Los Angeles. His portfolio is an old school Blogspot called Fern Bar, named after 1970s bars frequented by hip ad peeps at the time (including Théo’s father who was at BBDO) that were filled with actual ferns. What’s better than ad land history? MC loves it.

Alison Wong of San Francisco-based Byliner is looking for a copywriter. Matt is a copywriter/Creative Executive at CAA in Los Angeles. He’s been busy since his last MC post about a year ago, including a stint on the writing team of Eastbound & Down Season 3, stemming from the ad work he did for the show. (Awesome.) UPDATE: Greg Gerstner
Greg is a copywriter/CD at Ogilvy NY. He’s got a brand new site and a bunch of new work to go with it, including an interactive touch wall for IBM at the US Open, and three new spots for IBM. But honestly, there’s so much killer work in Greg’s portfolio, any excuse to post it again is a good excuse.

Leah Metz
Leah is a copywriter in Minneapolis. Check out her “shaving for good” campaign for The Bridging Barber. When did grooming for charity officially become a thing? Movember started in 2004, was it then? Don’t know, but MC respects macho, pruning and positivity, so it’s all love.
Portfolio: leahraymetz.com
Brad Meyers
Brad is a copywriter/ACD in San Francisco. People often ask MC, what makes a good CW portfolio? Pretty simple. When you’re clicking through it, do you feel jealous? Of the work? Do you wish it was yours? That’s a good start. Brad’s site includes a campaign that made MC so jealous back in the day. That 7-Eleven experiential campaign, where they turned 12 stores into Kwik-E-Marts from the Simpsons to hype the release of the Simpsons Movie. Just fantastic.
