UPDATE: Chad Rea

meeting

Chad is a copywriter/CD/entrepreneur/performer in Austin. Since his last post on MC (02.10.10), he’s got a ton of new work up on his site, launched like eight new companies, written and performed sketch comedy, done a bunch of voiceover work, and made some awesome silkscreen posters (including “Let’s Have a Meeting about a Meeting” above). MC gets tired just trying to sum it all up in one post. Tired, and inspired. Love it. This is what being a CW/idea factory is all about.

CW Wanted: RP3 Washington DC

RP3_Logo

Holly Corrigan, Creative Services Manager at RP3 in DC, is on the hunt for a mid-to-senior level writer. From Holly, “RP3 is a 4-year-old, fiercely independent, 35+ people agency and growing fast. Our clients range from Johns Hopkins Medicine to Ripley’s Believe It or Not, plus freight rail, automotive, travel, museums, and performing arts venues. We’re doing some pretty cool work and building some pretty cool things, and you’ll help us do more. (And no, you won’t have to work on political attack ads or dysfunctional government websites, because we don’t touch that stuff.) You have at least 3-5 years experience, a great book full of integrated campaigns, an insane work ethic, and a bit of a start-up mentality. You communicate equally well with clients and code writers. And you’re intrigued by the idea of building a great agency in a town not necessarily known for them.” Awesome. To apply, submit resumes and portfolio links to the address below.

Vera Springett

goldstar

Vera is a creative lead/ACD at Avenue Marketing & Communications in Chicago, previously in-house at University of Phoenix. Lots of the work in her portfolio is collateral/digital that’s more informational than marketing, which means that there’s lots and lots of writing. Which is what lots of lots of companies are looking for in a copywriter, you know?

Josh Leutz

ball

Josh is a copywriter/ACD at Butler Shine Stern & Partners in Sausalito. His portfolio rocks. MC’s been hearing a bit of poo-pooing lately about Cargo—that while it’s clean, you can’t get the modern look you can with Squarespace. Might be true. And MC digs them both. But Josh’s portfolio proves that, if you’ve got the content, super-clean super-easy-to-nav is all you need.

Mark Fulara

car

Mark is a copywriter at Avenue in Chicago. Branding Clarke company cars with a line that communicates both why the person driving the car is spraying chemicals and environmental friendliness is no easy task. But Mark’s line, “Love the Earth. Not mosquitoes.” is pretty much spot on. Especially if you’ve lived anywhere there are lots of mosquitoes. Hate. Mosquitoes.

Connor is a copywriter at LESS Co. in Minneapolis. Before that, he was a copywriter / digital strategist / community manager for Totino’s at General Mills, including Pizza Rolls. (Funny banner headline from Connor’s site: “Pizza Rolls. Because, Pizza Rolls.” Yes.) There is no more perfectly delicious / perfectly bad for you food product than Totino’s Pizza Rolls. How did Connor survive working on the account?!?!

ACD & Sr CWs Wanted: Victors & Spoils, Boulder

VS_Primary_Logo_White

Avery Henderson, Community Coordinator at Victors & Spoils in Boulder, is looking for an ACD and senior copywriters. From Avery: “Wanted: ACD & Sr. Copywriters with agency experience and a proven prowess with the written word to join our Boulder crew. If interested, you must be willing to step outside the comforts of a traditional agency and embrace both the nature of the startup culture and new ways of creating advertising. So an eager work ethic, an entrepreneurial attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow is essential.

You’ll have the opportunity to creatively support all client accounts, think conceptually and strategically and work closely with the V&S creative community to help prepare ideas for client presentation. Ideally, you’ll also have some production experience – in broadcast, print, digital and beyond – as you may be asked to lead or guide the execution of certain projects. And most importantly, you should be a cultural fit, which may or may not include a willingness to tolerate or join our agency’s competitive cornhole league.

Other Considerations:

  • Candidate must possess proven leadership, organizational and communication skills.
  • Candidate must be amenable to performing tasks both above and below his or her title, since a small agency culture often requires that you wear a lot of hats.

Give us a sense of who you are and why you’re the right person for the job. Be creative, but don’t forget to provide a link to your portfolio as part of your application.”
