Heather Parke

bradley

Heather is a freelance copywriter/ACD in Los Angeles. Check out her rez and you can’t help but be a little jealous of the agencies she’s worked with and the brands she’s worked on. Sick, sick, sick. MC had a hard time choosing what image to feature in Heather’s post, but if you have the opportunity to get Bradley Cooper’s face up there, that’s what you do. Right? Right.

Kathryn Kvas

Brady-army1_1340_c

Kathryn is a copywriter at Droga5 in NYC (awesome). In her first year at Droga5, she’s already worked on some huge projects for Under Armour including the amazing “I Will Not” campaign with Giselle and “You Are The Sum Of All Your Training” with Tom Brady, Jordan Spieth, Misty Copeland, and Stephen Curry (Warriors!). So cool. Also, don’t miss her videos about stock photo models for belVita. Hilarious.

Jon Miller

caps

Jon is a writer at GSD&M in Austin. All kinds of cool ideas in his portfolio, including an under-the-bottlecap campaign for Pacifico that transports beer lovers to different GPS locations around the globe. And a pretty stop-motion video campaign for Lennox iComfort S30. And an “unshame your pets” campaign for Stainmaster. Dig it.

Josh Gordon

slim2

Since his first post on MC (04.11.14) right after graduating from Miami Ad School NYC (and University of Oregon before that, go Ducks!), Josh has worked with R/GA, Barker DZP, and RICG. He’s also got a whole new site with projects for SlimFast, IDB Bank, Alcoholics Anonymous, Miele, Mercedes-Benz, and others. Time for an update.

Team Arnie

arnie

Copywriter Austin Campbell (USA) and Art Director Axel Spendlingwimmer (Austria) have joined forces after graduating from Miami Ad School Hamburg to form Team Arnie. As in, Schwarzenegger. They’re currently looking for their first gig in Germany, London, Paris, or Amsterdam. Turn on your volume before visiting their site (above). It’s ridiculous.

Bowen Mendelson

oldlman

Bowen is a copywriter/CD at Ogilvy in Chicago, soon to be freelance in San Francisco. Since his last post on MC (01.14.13), he’s completely revamped his site and added a ton of new work, including brilliant 15-second Instagram vids for the Hemingway Foundation (above). Love ’em.

New Copywriters Week: Lora Faris

crayons

Lora is new copywriter at Arnold Boston (congrats!), after graduating from Miami Ad School: New York and completing an internship at Droga5. Lots of interesting strategy in her portfolio: Crayola goes green by going black and white (above), bone marrow donation at Comic Con, and the NFL joins the World Wildlife Fund to help conserve the habitats of Bengals and Dolphins. Smart.

UPDATE: Adam Gothelf

santa

Adam is a San Francisco native at RPA in Los Angeles. Since his last post on MC (03.16.11), just after graduating from Miami Ad School in NYC, he’s done work for great shops all over the country and got a brand new portfolio to show for it. Including his 2013 holiday film for Honda, Santa’s New Sleigh. Santa drives a Honda!

Scott Hanson

car

Scott is a senior copywriter at Hudson Rouge in NYC. Lots of great automotive projects on his site including Volkswagen, Hyundai and Lincoln (above). Also, a hilariously sad campaign for the NDRC, featuring faux children’s book covers reminding kids and their parents of the dangers of climate change, like “None Fish Few Fish Dead Fish Who Fish.” Hello, nightmares!!!

Greg Kissler

paper

Greg is a new copywriter at Merkley+Partners in NYC, after graduating from Miami Ad School Brooklyn in June. Tip ‘o the Hat to Greg for pure fearlessness, as in the above video for Scotch Magic Tape. From Greg: “Have you ever torn paper on purpose? Torn it slowly, confidently and unapologetically? It’s kinda hot (especially with eye contact).”

Dave Gordon

duo

Dave is a copywriter at Saatchi & Saatchi NY. He shares a site with creative partner/AD Juan Leguizamon (both are pictured above, auditioning for their CW/AD roles, funny), called shoot-1st.com. From their About page: “We believe in burning midnight oil for work we believe in and that the best way to do something is to stop talking about it and do it.” Amen, brother.

Lyle Shemer

Screen-Shot-2013-09-14-at-6.58.55-AM

Lyle is a copywriter/ACD at JWT NYC, BBDO and Dentsu before that. Lots of work for big brands like NFL, Listerine, Pepcid, DirecTV, Canon, and Rolaids. Plenty of TV and video, too. But don’t miss Writerly One-Offs, a collection of long copy pieces Lyle’s done over the years. From Lyle’s site: “I’ve always loved long copy ads. But with all the impending doom surrounding the future of print, it seems every year there are fewer opportunities to write ads in this much-beloved genre. In any case, I hope the bunch here are as much fun for you to read as they were for me to craft.” Amen, brother.

Otilia Dobrea

Screen-Shot-2013-08-13-at-7.16.53-AM

Otilia is a copywriter in NYC, graduated from Miami Ad School last year, spent nine months at Anomaly, and is now looking for her next gig. Her book is that new-copywriter mix of produced work and student spec, which MC thinks is awesome to see. What did Otilia create at M.A.S.? And then, what did she produce immediately after, at Anomaly? Check it out.

UPDATE: Brian Button

sneaks

Brian is a copywriter in San Francisco. Since his first post on MC (March 2012), he’s moved from AKQA to Digitas and added some new work for eBay and Taco Bell to his portfolio — including a series of shorts for eBay called “eBay Thanks You.” Sometimes a story needs more than 30 or 60 seconds, you know? Also, MC would like Jonathan Adler’s beach house, please.

Patrick Tamisiea

RAIT Print 1

Patrick is a new-ish copywriter in Los Angeles, after 10 years of performing sketch and improv comedy. (Again, says MC, comedians and drummers = the best copywriters.) There’s some hilarious stuff on his site, including a campaign for Ryan Airlines: “With prices this cheap, shut the f*ck up.” Nice. Don’t miss the video of 6-year-old Patrick called “All About Pat” at the bottom of the page Schedule a Kissing Consultation. MC was that kid, too.
